How Much to Charge for Social Media Posts

Done-for-you services publish prices of about $9 to $15 a post. A full-service agency that also answers comments and runs ads charges $62.50 to $112.50 a post. The post is the same; what the client buys around it is not.

Dark cover plate. An orange Analysis chip, the figure $9.30 set large, and the line reading is a post when a plan buys thirty. At right, two measured bars under the heading published price, per post: $99 Social $9.30 drawn short, LYFE $62.50 drawn full.

Social media posts sell for about $9 to $15 each from done-for-you services that publish their prices: $99 Social charges $99 a month for 10 posts, and Socinova $199 for 12 image posts and 2 reels. A full-service agency that also answers comments and runs ads charges $62.50 to $112.50 a post: LYFE Marketing's plans are $750 to $1,550 a month for 12 to 20 posts. Freelance social media managers on Upwork typically charge $14 to $35 an hour.

So the price of a post depends far less on the post than on what the client gets around it.

Prices from each company's own pricing page, 13 October 2026. US dollars. Price per post is our arithmetic: the monthly price divided by the posts included. For Socinova, posts and reels are counted together and the blog, email and ad spend are not priced separately. LYFE Marketing's plans also include page monitoring, replies and sponsored posts.

The two ends of the table are not selling the same thing. At $99 Social, "1 social channel included" and each extra channel is "+$10 per extra channel." At LYFE Marketing, every plan includes "Page Monitoring & Responding" and "Sponsored Posts & Follower Ads," which is community management and advertising on top of the posts.

How much does social media management cost per month?

Published monthly plans run from $99 to $1,550 a month. The done-for-you services sit at $99 to $500: $99 Social's four plans are $99 to $279 and Socinova's four are $99 to $500. LYFE Marketing says its "social media management pricing ranges from $750-$1550 per month on average."

LYFE adds that this "price is our fee to perform services on your behalf. It does not include any advertising dollars to run paid ads on social media." The ad budget is a separate cost to the client, which is worth saying out loud in any proposal.

The monthly price is also what the client compares. A café owner thinking about $279 a month for 30 posts is weighing it against their own evenings, not against another agency's price per post.

How much do social media managers charge per hour?

On Upwork, social media managers' median hourly rates are $14 to $35 an hour. Upwork describes the figure as "typical hourly rate ranges of certain historical contracts worldwide" and notes that "What clients will pay is subject to negotiations with talent." LYFE Marketing puts a full-time manager at "$18.75 per hour to $38 an hour."

Hourly pricing is the weakest way to sell this work. A post that takes an hour today takes twenty minutes once the templates and the brand voice are set, and an hourly price pays less for the faster work. Our free freelance hourly rate calculator shows the hourly rate a monthly price has to beat.

How much more do video posts cost than image posts?

Short videos cost about $22 to $25 each as an add-on at $99 Social, against about $9 to $10 for an image post: 4 videos are $99 a month, 8 are $189 and 12 are $269. At LYFE Marketing, 12 vertical videos cost $1,350 a month against $750 for 12 image posts.

$99 Social describes its videos as "Simple 15–45 second videos for Reels, TikTok & Shorts." Socinova's plans count reels alongside image posts: its Standard plan includes "2 engaging reels/videos per month" and its Growth plan 4.

Video is where a small studio can charge more for the same client. If the editing itself is the skill being sold, how much to charge for video editing has that market's published prices.

How much should a beginner charge for social media posts?

Price a monthly plan of 12 to 20 posts for one or two channels at the done-for-you level: $149 to $349 a month, the range of $99 Social's Plus and Socinova's Advanced plans. That is roughly $10 to $15 a post, and it is a price a small business owner can say yes to without a meeting.

The reason to start there rather than lower is that the bottom of the market is already a $99 subscription. A new studio does not win by undercutting it; it wins by being better at one kind of business.

Moving up to the agency price, $62.50 a post and more, means adding what LYFE Marketing's plans add: replies to comments and messages, and ads. Setting a first price without a portfolio is covered in how to price a service with no track record.

Is selling social media posts still worth it as a business?

Yes, at $500 a month and up per client, and only for a niche. At $99 Social's prices a solo operator needs dozens of clients to earn a wage; at LYFE Marketing's $750 to $1,550, eight clients bring in $6,000 to $12,400 a month. The difference is what the client gets beyond the posts.

AI tools have made the post itself cheap to produce, which is why done-for-you plans can sit at $99. What a business still pays more for is a person who knows its customers, answers its comments and can show results. That shift is the subject of what content AI can't copy.

Email is the most common add-on: both $99 Social and Socinova sell it next to social posts. How much to charge for email marketing has those prices.

The honest hard part

The published prices are the easy part. Most social media managers do not publish prices at all, so these three companies and one marketplace are the visible part of a market where most deals are quoted on a call.

The second hard part is scope. "A post" is a captioned image at one company and a vertical video at another, and channel counts change the work: $99 Social prices one channel and charges $10 for each extra one, while LYFE Marketing's plans cover two platforms each. Two services at the same price per post can be doing very different amounts of work.

The third is cancellation. Every plan here is month to month: $99 Social says "No contracts. Cancel anytime." and Socinova asks for "30 days notice." A client can leave as easily as they joined, so the business is only as steady as the results it shows each month.
