A YouTube channel manager costs $15 to $43 an hour as a freelancer on Upwork, which is the range Upwork gives for its YouTube marketers. Agencies that publish prices charge by the month: CAD $699 to CAD $1,199 at Seize Marketing Agency, and $1,266 to $2,370 a month at Tasty Edits, whose shortest commitment is a quarter.
Video editing is usually priced separately, and it is often the bigger bill.

Prices from each agency's own pricing page, 18 October 2026. Seize publishes in Canadian dollars and its prices are shown as published, not converted. Tasty Edits prices are US dollars. Coverage is each agency's own wording, shortened.
Seize's Monthly Mastery package, which includes five produced videos, starts below its setup-focused Starter Boost. That is how the page lists them; ask what "Starts" covers before relying on the figure.
How much do freelance YouTube channel managers charge per hour?
On Upwork, YouTube marketers "Cost $15–$43/hr." in Upwork's own words, as median hourly rates. Upwork adds that the figures are "typical hourly rate ranges of certain historical contracts worldwide," so the range mixes freelancers in every country. Upwork has no cost page for YouTube channel managers as such.
At those rates, a freelancer working 20 hours a month on a channel costs $300 to $860 a month. That is our illustration, not a published figure; 20 hours is roughly an hour each working day, enough for uploads, titles, descriptions, comments and a monthly report on a channel posting once a week.
The comparison with the agencies is the useful part. An agency at $1,490 a month costs what about 35 to 100 hours of a $15 to $43 freelancer would. The agency is selling a team, a process and someone who answers for the result.
What does a YouTube channel manager actually do for the money?
At the published prices, CAD $699 to $2,370 a month buys one of three jobs: running uploads and admin, setting strategy, or producing the videos. Tasty Edits splits the first two, "Operations and logistics" at $1,490 and "advanced strategy" at $2,370. Seize's CAD $799 package adds five produced videos a month.
Tasty Edits describes the role in one line: "Your dedicated YouTube Channel Manager, SEO, Community Manager and Strategist all in one." Its feature table puts numbers on the two plans: Starter covers up to 24 video uploads, 2 community posts, up to 50 comment replies and 1 call a month; Pro covers up to 56 uploads, 8 community posts, up to 150 comment replies and 2 calls. Seize lists the same jobs as keyword-targeted titles and descriptions, chapter timestamps, closed captions, end screens, comment management and a monthly report on "watch time, subscriber growth, impression CTR, top-performing videos."
Most of that list is work a creator can do themselves for free in YouTube Studio. What a manager adds is doing it every week, and noticing in the numbers what to change. Which numbers matter, and which benchmarks are real, is covered in YouTube terms explained and how to revive a dying YouTube channel.
How much does editing and design add on top?
$278 to $327 a video for editing at Tasty Edits, and $43 for a thumbnail added to an edit. A channel posting one long video a week pays about $1,112 to $1,308 a month for editing there, on top of a management plan. Our per-video editing benchmarks are in how much to charge for video editing.
Thumbnails are priced separately too, from about $2 on a volume subscription to about $92 at a creator agency, compared in how much does a thumbnail designer charge. Seize's packages include custom thumbnails. Tasty Edits' management feature list includes "A/B/C thumbnail and title tests" but not thumbnail design, which it sells as the $43 add-on.
Added up, a fully outsourced weekly channel at Tasty Edits' quarterly prices costs about $2,600 to $3,700 a month before thumbnails. That is our arithmetic from its published prices.
Is a YouTube channel manager worth the cost?
Only when the channel already brings in more than the manager costs: $1,266 to $1,490 a month for Tasty Edits' entry plan, or $300 to $860 for our 20-hour freelancer example. A manager costs money every month; the channel has to return more than that in sponsorships, ad revenue or, most often for a business, customers.
For a business channel, the useful question is what one customer is worth. If a video that brings in one client pays for a month of management, the decision is easy. If the channel has no path from a viewer to a sale, a manager makes a better-run channel that still earns nothing.
If you are selling channel management rather than buying it, the published prices show the shape of the offer: a monthly plan, a written list of what is included, and a quarterly minimum.
The honest hard part
The published prices are the easy part. Most YouTube agencies quote only after a call, so these two agencies and one marketplace are the visible part of a market where most deals are private.
The second hard part is that no plan here promises views. Seize's page includes "Audience Growth to boost subscribers, engagement, and views" as a service, not a guarantee, and neither agency publishes an outcome. Agree in writing how success will be measured before paying a quarter up front.
The third is the commitment. Tasty Edits' channel management is shown only as quarterly or yearly, so the cheapest way to try it is $4,470 for three months. Seize's packages are listed per month.
